Reydothe: Chapter 6 Part 2

Venril

“Hey now, chill out Dwarf.” He said before he started to feel aroused from the small kisses caressing the nape of his neck. He almost lost it when Srel started to lick up his neck, forcing him to cover the moan that was escaping his mouth, thinking how dare this Dwarf take advantage of his weak spots like that. He was hoping that he could take the lead but having Srel on top for once was kind of hot and arousing him even more. He was almost afraid of what Srel might do if he took charge for once.

Venril tried to keep up, to match with Srel’s movements and reciprocate the gestures but at this stage, he was too weak to even move. How could he allow something so small take over him, to dominate him like this? He knew it was only a matter of time before the passion arising in him forcing the shivers of his skin to tremble their way down to his groin, forcing his own manhood to awaken in response. However, it seemed he would not get that chance, considering Srel was only teasing him, stopping halfway to his navel with kisses. Venril didn’t know whether or not to be relieved or angry that the Dwarf had taken this opportunity to take advantage of him simply to tease him and stop halfway through. A fool he was for thinking Srel could be serious in taking charge. He was a man in charge of many things but apparently, dominating his lover was not one of them.

“Why’d you stop?” Venril asked curiously, giving Srel a very stern and annoyed look as if he did not like to be teased like that.

“It’s dinner time apparently.” He said showing that his sister was already behind them watching, for how long was a mystery. Srel looked more than embarrassed, as if he was on the verge of dying for being caught in such a private, embarrassing ordeal.

“Oh no, don’t stop on my account.” Oera teased. “Do continue. I was just about to call the village in for a free showing.” She said with a smile, knowing very well that by her being their, it ruined their mood and she was proud to have stopped them halfway through otherwise things would have gotten really awkward for the three of them.

Venril looked embarrassed, red from ear to ear and nervous he just exposed a very shameful side of himself to Oera, a woman he respected highly. She must think of them as ridiculous, a lovey-dovey couple who can’t keep it in their pants for one second. Thankfully, he was able to keep it in his pants, resisting the urge to grow erect from the small, passionate gestures Srel gave him just moments before.

Srel kissed Venril on the lips, sweetly and smiled. “We’ll continue this later, you must be hungry after a day’s journey and all of that magick conjuring.” He said, considerate of Venril’s weaken state at this point.

“Thanks, but I’m fine when it comes to energy. I am hungry though.” He said kind of jumping back to his old self, the one who couldn’t say no to a plateful of food.”

“Good, me too. Let’s wash up and eat. It’s rare to see Oera fixing dinner. She usually hates taking on the maternal role.” Srel said as he got off the bed and headed to the washroom, Venril slowly and hesitantly following.

Nexyl

Nexyl had fallen asleep in the study underneath his castle at a table, a painful and unsanitary place to fall asleep, especially among a pile of dusty, old books. He looked around, feeling as if he was forgetting something until he noticed his now Werecat pet sleeping next to him in a chair. He looked at the small creature and smiled at its pudgy face, covered in fur. He wondered, what was it that he found so disgusting of this vile creature? He hated body hair but wasn’t fur a different matter? He had a few pets in his lifetime that he was able to pet, like a rabbit or a fox he had nursed back to health simply to salvage his brother’s innocence. What was it about the half-bred of humanoid and animal-like creatures did he detested so much? He studied the boy for some time before realized, it wasn’t the soft fur they were covered in or the ears and tail they were born with. What was it?

He sighed, not knowing the matter till it hit him. The fact that they were humanoid. The fact that they were so similar to an Elf in figure and stature that he realized, that they could be considered as a concubine for an Elf if it fit some fetishism of a more humanoid being like that of an Elf. Wasn’t that what they called beastiality? A line no Elf dared to cross among species? That must be where his hatred from anything different than an Elf stemmed from, the in-breeding of different species creating monstrous new creatures. It was a soil upon the good-nature of nature, was it not?

He looked at the child, now disgusted of any thoughts he may had earlier with considering the cub as “cute”. He was, “cute”, as any child would be with innocence and ignorance crowding the very fibers of their being, but why, why was he disgusted with the child simply because of that reason? He never planned on taking advantage of the child for his own twisted desires, did he? Surely not! He was not about to stoop so low as to caress the cub in that manner, let alone a child. He was not interested in those things despite his feelings of observance. The kid was cute because he was innocent, nothing more. A platonic sense of the idea of his adoration for this kid. That was it. He was his master, the controller of his every will. Sure, he would enjoy to dominate the child to show him who was boss but not like that. Not in the way his brother had done to his friend the Dwarf. He would not stoop to such disgusting, perversely thoughts simply because a mood swung by him. He was more moral than that. Even such feelings as adoration seemed to be pushing the line.

He decided, no more immoral thoughts about the child, he was a slave to him, his name meant so. He would seek to control the fowl beast by his own means rather than that of his misguided thoughts of desire of pent up emotions. He would train the child to be a strong body guard, to grow stronger in muscle and stature so that in the future, the child would be protecting him for the sake of fulfilling his life-long dreams to dominate the rest of the Reydothians that was not of Elf nature. There was already a war uprising among the Reydothians near and far in conversations about the Elves taking advantage of their position as complete rulers of Reydothe. If that is their belief, then he would make it so. He will show them all who deserves the rightful rule of Reydothe. No talk of democracy or equality among creatures. Elves were number one and they will forever be the right rulers of this world. They were the supreme beings both in intellect and strength, not to mention out-aged all other creatures. They did not soil their lips with the flesh of another living creature, they did not hunt to kill for food or of the remains, they were beautiful in flesh and blood, they were intellectual and smart, devising many strategical tactics of battle and protection just in case. They were supreme in every way. Yes, they were. His brother may not think so, but Nexyl did. They would one day rule this world as their own without the others getting in their way.

Nexyl was in a deep frenzy at his plan, one he wish to unleash within the next century or so. He looked up at the child who had just woken up, observing his masters expressions that told him his master was deep in thought over something that made him extremely proud and happy. Whatever those thoughts were, it would be in his debt to see it through for his master.

Nexyl looked at the child rather uneasily before he smiled at his master, not helping Nexyl’s uneasiness. Nexyl then began to grow firm with the child to teach him who was in control.

“Take me to my bathing quarters.” He ordered, hoping the little cat understood.

“Yes master!” He said happily as he stood up and brushed himself off then he helped Nexyl out of his chair and held his hand innocently as he led them both to the portal, and from there to a bathroom he saw a servant walk into earlier when he was out in the castle rummaging food for his master.

Nexyl was impressed by the Werecat’s sense of direction and even more shock when the cat hissed at a servant who didn’t notice the two of them standing there. His soft, cub-like roar startled the servant who had dropped his feather duster and wondered why a small Werecat was bugging him, until he saw Nexyl.

“I’m so sorry your grace! I will get this flea-ridden mongrel out of here at once.” He said believing the cat to be the problem of this scene.

Nexyl grew annoyed. “Hands off what is mine.” He ordered the servant. “This cub is my property now, I now own him as my-- pet.” Nexyl said almost about to say slave but he knew that would sound a little too weird to his servant.
“Oh why yes, my humblest apologies my grace.” The servant said with a bow.

“We wish to bathe this morning. Him mainly for the fleas and stench. No pet of mine is to prance around in filth and dirt all day.” He said, sounding as a proud owner of a clean and well-pampered pet. He honestly couldn’t stand the stench but he wished for the cat to accompany him, so he can teach the cub how to bathe him properly for future reference.

“Yes, my grace.” The servant said escorting them both to the washroom. A harem of lady Elves stood naked, bowing their heads to Nexyl, in hopes to bathe the Prince yet again this fine morn. Nexyl shooed them away, not needing their services for today was a day his pet shall bathe him in privacy.

The servant was about to run the water till Nexyl cleared his throat. “That will not be necessary.” He said to the servant who did not question his grace’s words. He left the two of them alone and closed the door.

“Múldir!” Nexyl beckoned, loudly and sternly forcing the small cat to shudder under his voice.

“Yes, Master?” He said worried he had done something wrong in his master’s presence, hoping he would not be punished so severely for whatever it was he had done.

“From this point on, you will draw my baths for me and wash my body, as my bathroom mistresses do for me occasionally. Got that? You will take their place.” He said watching the little cat’s face change from one emotion to the next.

“Oh! Right!” He said happily before he wondered what it was he was suppose to do. He first turned on the water, like he saw the servant do first when he assumed he would be drawing the bath. He made sure the temperature was right, a warm-hot sort of feeling he assumed. He then looked at the bath and wondered what needed to be done. He then noticed there were no bath supplies around: soap, shampoo, the works. He went to the large armoire with the glass doors and opened it, searching for the right labels that he knew would be for Nexyl’s bath.

Nexyl couldn’t help but snicker at the little cub’s obvious attempt to get things right in an order that should be done. He did notice that the cub was somewhat really good at knowing what was needed. He watch the water rise, hasty about its levels and the time it was taking the cub to fetch everything in one go. He didn’t want the tub to overflow but it was a good time limit for the cub. It would show how fast he was at this and possibly a tool he can use to help train the cub to do it right every time correctly and with the shortest amount of time.

Múldir came back and set the stuff neatly on the side of the tub, a large, porcelain crevice in the middle of the floor surrounded by tile. He watched the levels of the water and by the time it hit the overflow plate he began to stop the water slowly, checking it with his foot to test its heat, it satisfactory to his tastes but not so sure about Nexyl’s.

Nexyl stood there, wondering if the cub would realize what he was expecting next. The cub then got it, blushing a little before he went to Nexyl and helped him out of his robes he wore the day before and then grabbed his hand to help into the tub, escorting him down the porcelain steps that surrounded the tub. Nexyl smiled, proud of the cub for his first job but it wasn’t over yet.

“Now, join me, you must be washed as well and I need you to accompany me.” He ordered a little more politely this time. He noticed the cub reacting quite nervously, fidgeting slowly as he took his clothes off. His tunic vest and burlap pants were off slowly but surely. He stepped into the water only to be met with a height of water nearly drowning him. It seemed too full for him to stand in and Nexyl laughed at how short the child was at his age.

Nexyl drained the water some till it was at the child’s shoulders, not minding a little less water in his bath for once.

Nexyl beckoned with his finger for the cub to come over to him. The cub swimming slowly over to his master, a cat not afraid of the water it seemed. Nexyl grabbed the shampoo Múldir had fetched and lathered a glob in his hand and scrubbed it into the cub’s hair. A pet of his shall not be filthy and unkept. Taking care of a pet is a great responsibility but he was glad that a cat could eventually take care of themselves, unlike dogs.

Múldir closed his eyes when he felt Nexyl’s hands lather in his scruffy, brown hair. He had never taken a bath in a fancy, porcelain tub like this one. His own bathing rituals were done in the river near his home with his parents and siblings. He would simply swim in the shallow river, not bothering with scented lotions and waxed bars. He had no need for him because a cat’s scent was special to not only themselves as an identity but also to their mother for finding them. He wondered what his mother and father would think of him now, owned and cloaking himself with an Elven-made product that masked odors and kept the body clean. Was soap even able to clean fur? His body was covered in short hairs of fur that made the color of his “skin”. It was a mixture of light brown and tan with occasional black stripes. The frame of his eyes were white with stripes of black coming from the tips of his eyes on the sides of his face. His markings were similar to his siblings but different in color as every cat was different by frame and color. Not one was alike, not even twins.

Nexyl finished scrubbing the cat’s hair before grabbing a small, wooden bucket on the side of the tub and filling it with water before flowing it slowly over the cats hair, it melting against the sides of his face, sticking to it like glue before it was brushed out of his face and away from his eyes. Nexyl smiled before he wondered about the fur before he took a body lotion and started to scrub the child’s body, hugging him from behind.

The gesture seemed odd for the kid, blushing slightly and hiding his face from Nexyl’s view. He didn’t want Nexyl to scold him looking away from this oddly intimate hug that only his mother would do for him when he was scared or reading to him old legends of their kind. It was in that moment, that Múldir suddenly began to have a sense of adoration for his master, unlike from before where he thought of using the prince’s lessons in helping him grow stronger against him for revenge on his tail. All of that seemed pointless now. The Elf was not a bad guy, just misguided in his views. He was wondering if this position as pet was really the wisest of decisions and would he be taken care of in his older years by his master or will he be discarded once he was deemed useless? He knew he wanted to be by Nexyl’s side but how far would his loyalty go for his master? Would he fight on his side even when things seemed to go wrong in the world? Or would he fight against Nexyl to do what was right? Either way, he knew, saving Nexyl whether while on his side or against him was something he would definitely do. He would save Nexyl whether from outside threats or from himself. That was a given for Múldir.

Evolve: Chapter 3 Part 2

Srel clenched his hand on his spoon he had in his soup and wasn't able to calm himself down until his sister appeared. Oera was a beautiful dwarf, skinny too. She was not stout like most of the Dwarves in their village. It may have to do with their father who was never really a Dwarf. In fact, his father was the tallest Dwarf in the kingdom and would never tell them his family history. All he knew was that they were Giants among Dwarves. That was all Srel knew and all he cared to ask. He could care less why he was taller than the rest, just that he was tall enough to help out in times of need, especially with something needing to be placed high up.

Srel was about five-feet and two inches, Dwarves usually not exceeding that of four foot and ten inches. Oera was five feet even and lanky at that. Srel was pretty masculine, but not stout like most of the Dwarves. In fact, he was good proportion for his height. Srel had messy black hair, that Oera always wanted to brush but he never let her. He said that brushing his hair would make him appear girly like an Elf. Then they found themselves laughing when they thought of Venril, who's hair was spiky and messy half the time. Venril was not an average Elf because he was so masculine and rugged. He was not afraid to get dirty or to go a week without bathing. Srel loved Venril for his down-to-earth charm and rugged good looks. He wish he had Venril's spirit and charm, yet he knew his anger got the best of him forcing him from being able to have such charm like Venril. Srel sighed at the thought his sister looked at him curiously and staring down at his food as if she wanted some.

"What?" He said questionably as he looked up at her, his voice deep and slightly irritated.

"Nothing, just wondering why you seemed so down all of a sudden when your food looks so delicious." She said with a smile. She always did have a big appetite but never seemed to gain any weight or fat. It was a mystery to everyone really.

"Want some? There is still half of what I fixed up on the stove." He asked her sweetly.

"But is it still warm?" She asked, not bothering to check first.

Srel looked annoyed and pouted. "I just fixed it. It would be a better option then the food I already sunk my teeth in." He said before he started to devour his food faster so she couldn't even get a chance at stealing it from him.

"Oh alright, don't have a cow." She said rolling her eyes before she went to the kitchen to grab herself some food. "By the way, where is Venril these days? He hasn't been buy in weeks. Usually he comes by every other week to see you." She said curiously as she started to nibble on some bread first before grabbing her own mutton.

"Oh he is probably busy with his duties as a prince. He hasn't even sent me a letter or anything."  He said kind of sounding a little hurt his Elf probably forgotten him.

"Actually, a hawk brought a letter by not too long ago. It seemed like a rush order from Venril." She said before she set her food on the table and sat down.

Srel stood up almost excited and urgent to read it. "Where!" He shouted at her looking like a love-sick puppy who finally got the chance to play with its favorite toy again.

His sister looked at him rather shocked and dumbfound at her brother's enthusiasm then she smirked and held it up in between her fingers. He reached for it but she pulled it away, teasing him. "What do I get in return?" She asked slyly. "A new set of daggers?" She asked, desperately needing a new set since hers were almost about to break from her last battle with a giant Werewolf. Females were not allowed to hunt or fight and Oera normally go there tools from her brother or her father. They knew she had a passion for fighting and protecting herself and her family, so they raised her like a tomboy and a fighter, probably even a better fighter than her big brother.

"Fine! Now give it here!" He said before it was in his reach and he was able to finally snatch it from her and read it.
Dear Srel,

It is good to finally get around to talking to you. I am deeply sorry that it took me this long to finally get enough time to talk to you let alone make a trip back to your village and see you. I miss you terribly and hope that within the next few days, I will be able to see you once again. I have so much to tell you my dear friend. Much of it deals with a secret my ancestors has kept from us and another part of it is about my brother, Nexyl. I hope you will wait for me and then when possible, our meetings will become much more frequent and accessible to the both of us. Do wait for me, I plan on leaving my Kingdom this afternoon after right writing this. I should be there within a day or two, if not sooner. It may not even take that long. I wish you and your sister the best.
Sincerely,
Venril

Srel read the letter, and smiled when he finally understood that Venril was heading to him within the day. His smile must have been bright and big because his sister giggled at him making him seem really embarrassed.

"Venril said he was coming in the next day or two or sooner." He then stopped and thought and reread a part of the letter. "But how can that be? It usually takes him four days to reach our village. How can you reach us so quickly? It must be part of what he is going to tell me when he gets here." He said with a smile. "Either way, I get to see him." He said happily before he coughed and changed his demeanor back to normal. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go see if Kvor needs any help with that new house their building." He said putting the letter in his room and then leaving the house to go and help his friends with the workload.

Oera rolled her eyes and smiled and then reached for her brother's leftovers on his plate before he came back in and drank the rest of his soup and taking his mutton leg with him out the door. Oera frowned and looked saddened she couldn't have seconds.

Evolve: Chapter 1 Part 2

The world was glorious among this time, bright and clear, high-definition without the science at our fingertips. It was clean and fresh, full of wonder and glory. Its creatures living in peace with one another, even the Ogres and Trolls did not disturb its neighbors smaller than them. The Elves, were not as proper as legend tells, for the Elves believed in elegance through diplomacy rather than beauty. They were still beautiful. Beauty was simply a title one would say in relation to the Elves, especially to the royal family, who were the Guardians of Reydothe and the soul backbone of leadership among the world which was not won by power or dominance, nor by drawing sticks, but by lifespan for the Elves far succeeded any other creature among them. Reydothe needed leaders who were healthy and wise to lead, and the Elves spent no expense at doing what was best for Reydothe. They sought peace and equality of all creatures, big or small, ugly or beautiful, and devised their own Democracy of Laws, called Reydothe's Scroll.

Reydothe's Scroll, consisted of 20 main laws with consecutive details towards each one. The basics included: No killing even among defense, no violence or stealing even among desperation, equality does not judge based on differences but only similarities of livelihood; that all living creatures are subjugated under or upon Reydothe's soil, and no living creature is above another. Elves saw everyone as their brother even without blood ties or racial differences. We are born, therefore we are all equal.

The kingdom, however, was losing its stronghold on Reydothe's creatures and accused of abusing its power or being hypocritical to its laws, for no creature is above another, thus Elves should not be in full control. The creatures of Reydothe were correct, however, through change came differences of opinion and a slow process in improvement to consider. Patience was far from on their side and against them at every turn. Things went downhill after the two Princes were born, their leadership in question and almost far from their reach.

The fraternal twins, Nexyl and Venril, Princes of Reydothe and of Elven descent, were born when turmoil was merely a rumor and rapidly growing. They grew up learning everything there was to know about democracy and leadership. Nexyl being the older of the two was forced to know far more about the history and the government the Elves adopted while Venril focused more on social affairs and civil liberties. The division of the two princes, both of equal status to the throne, shaped their own personalities and opinions. Nexyl, the stoic, critic always supporting logic and wisdom over personal emotions strongly believed that the Kingdom was top priority and Venril, the outgoing, optimist who always saw the good in others despite outward appearance and reputation strongly believed in the people's welfare and their safety was top priority.

Venril was always helping others, providing food and shelter to those in need and always making time to play with the children. He even traveled some to neighboring villages to help in anyway possible. He even risked his life numerous times to help build shelters or protect the people he came into contact with. His brother, Nexyl, saw this illogical and foolish. He believed a leader cannot lead or offer his hand in friendship if he is always knocking on death's door trying to help them.

Nexyl believed a Prince should focus on his duties at home rather than the affairs of foreign lands. Venril was not about to do sit around and waste time with politics at home. The restless Venril was not at all eager at obtaining the throne and was asked to leave most of the duties and responsibilities on his brother. He did not want to cause his brother any distress, nor was he being selfish in agreeing to such a request. He felt that one cannot build his home without the foreign land that surrounds it, otherwise it does not differentiate itself from being a home to return to. This led him to take half of the responsibility of his brother's by lending his hand to others in anyway possible.

The week was young and Venril's was certainly the most challenging of any he has ever faced within the 400 years he walked Reydothe. His body was average in height and lanky in statue. It was, however, masculine and bold, broad and strong. He trained in many weapons, simply for protection purposes of his people and for the art of the craft. His favorite was the bow, the target always a board on a haystack, never a living creature for elves did not seek food from living creatures but from the growth of the land. He never understood the Dwarves for their obsession with meat and ale. He tried it once with his Dwarf allies in the West and the next morning, he was not so eager to get up nor willing to try a second round.

Venril never sought death of anyone around him but did not mind if Death sought him if it meant standing in its way to that of another's livelihood. Death was always one step next to him for he was always risking his own life for the sake of others. Which set him apart from any and all other beings around him. His brother yelled at him once for his foolish actions, saving a young boy from drowning when the tide was far too strong to fight.

Nexyl adored his younger brother, but was not always proud of his ways. Nexyl spoke to Venril almost as if he was the adult speaking to a child, never understanding reality and the limitations one can endure when facing such obstacles. Nexyl almost regretted speaking harshly to his brother for he feared Venril would do something even more unspeakable. How right he was, for Venril was about to face the most tragic of all tales not yet spoken, especially not in friendly company for the words spoken were far from polite, rather forbidden it seemed for the very word spoken was either a rumor or a threat to the ears of fear. Dragon.

During this time, Nexyl feared to speak a word of the darkness he felt within the land. It's presence all so familiar with the rise of the Dragons underfoot. The first Dragon born only 11,000 years before his own birth and was slowly growing with each decade. Nexyl feared that the Dragons were going to cause an uprising against the Elves and desperate action was needed. The legends of the Dragons and their own birth were long forgotten by then and only tales of their actions among the others were placed into questions with rumors of destruction and chaos from beasts as hideous and ill-tempered as the Ogres. Nexyl was on his own quest to seek out the truth of the Dragons before another one showed up. Little did he know, that time was quickly upon them.

Nexyl walked the slim path of the garden from the Palace his family shared, along with the two servants he kept close at hand for business pleasures. Nexyl saw his brother not far from the path, playing happily with the Werecat children. He despised many different races, mainly for their differences from the Elves and more importantly the darkness that rumored through the wind. He knew that one or two of the races among Reydothe would rise against the Elves, and he was training both in mind and in craft for what may happen next. He trusted no one outside his only family and possibly some of his family. It was hard for him to admit that he suspected a few of his own family members would deceive him, he hoped one of them was not his brother. He cared deeply for his brother, so much so in fact that he expected his brother to always find confidence in confiding in him of any secrets on mind and any faith in hand. He hoped to find the same respect from his brother to do the same.

Nexyl needed desperately to speak with his brother about this, merely for support, but he was not about to mention it. He hoped his brother would be mature enough to understand the difficult stress he was under in deciding what it was he should do. He needed his brother, as a brother and as a friend, not as a prince or diplomat.

"Venril, a word please." Nexyl shouted to him across the garden highly infested with flowers not grown on Earth but vaguely similar to bell flowers and roses. Nexyl enjoyed the flowers and the grass, he loved the smells and more importantly the sights. He was a visual learner and he loved many sights to gaze upon, however, his vision in his left eye was growing weak and he wanted to do anything he could in order to fix it. He was sometimes caught closing his eyes or winking in order to see, but he was a man of high class and did not wish to hint towards his own faults. He never considered revealing a negative side to him as an image to perceive but sometimes he couldn't avoid it.

Venril was busy playing with the Werecat children, a humanoid beast of cat-like qualities. He told the kitties to count to 1000 as fast as a butterfly flutters and that he would return shortly after. He then rushed to his brother, standing upright and stiff, as he expected his brother of such finery and grace would stand. He noticed his brother was rather tired that day, his skin under his eyes covered in glitter and make-up to hide the dark shadows of many restless nights. He felt bad his brother was doing all the work while he was basically out playing freely.  He wanted to take on some responsibility but he was once told by Nexyl, "Not to Worry." He remembered those words as well as he remembered his brother's face that day, it now aged but still the same.

Nexyl's Elven light was dim, almost weak and cloudy from the stress. An Elf's light is an outward glow that marks the strength and wisdom they obtain. All Elves have one and when asleep it dims, thus the brighter an Elf is in spirit, the brighter the glow. Nexyl's was dimming, not by death though, but by lack of sleep. If his glow dimmed too low, Nexyl would certainly fall asleep for keeping that glow bright takes a lot of energy out of an Elf, thus leaving them weak after each spark or change.

Nexyl was tall and graceful, long golden hair that was almost white, a platinum blond, that flowed as luxurious as the sapphire rivers curving through the forest, the very green his silk cloak was mimicking. His skin was fine and smooth, ravished in wisdom but still young, almost equivalent to a human's mid-teens. His body was tall and lanky, not as masculine as Venril's for he was a man chained to a desk rather than with the craft. He has dabbled in many of the craft, but not so highly as his brother. He was strong though, especially in a game of wits. He was a genius in a word game and among a game they adopted from the human world they once heard of centuries ago, called Chess. It was reformed to fit the Elven world and to better the game within its challenge.

Venril, with his dark hair, cut short and jagged unevenly with his bangs covering most of his forehead, shone with colors of the sea and his cloak as brown as the tree bark that howled in the wind. Venril''s skin was darker than that of his brothers, taking after his father it seems and with countless hours outside working. His skin was smooth and round, younger looking than Nexyl even only seconds apart from one another. He felt as if there was a huge age gap between the two of them, Venril appearing younger and slightly shorter than Nexyl who was tall, almost a giant in the Elven world. He was no where near as beautiful as his brother and certainly not as graceful. He certainly was, however, more easy-going.

"Yes, dear brother?" He asked respectfully, yet curiousness never far from his mind.

Nexyl seemed almost uptight about his news, so much he waved his hand to his servants to leave them and motioned to his brother to follow. "Come brother, walk with me." He gestured gracefully before they traveled along the path together within the garden.

When far enough away from ear shot, Nexyl begun his news. "Reydothe is under great need of protection." He said, his light looking cloudier than before.

"Protection? From what?" Venril asked, confused and uneasy now, his stomach wrenching with distress and his own light dimming.

"From the uprisings, of course. Reydothe grows impatient with Elven leadership, calling us hypocrites among our own law." He said looking even more stressed than usual. "I fear it is almost a matter of time before we are facing a sight no other has ever seen on Reydothe, a war."

"War? I heard of no war among the Dwarves. There is a rumor though. A rumor floating about the neighboring villages, talking of a division of power extending further than Elven command. Is that your work, dear brother?"

"Indeed it is. Ogres are wanting their own King, Dwarfs are growing testy of us Elves, and the Dragons." Nexyl spoke almost unable to breathe.

"Nexyl, you alright? What of the Dragons?" Venril responded calmly yet unable to find the strength to touch his brother for support.

"They are uprising against everyone, and they are born without breeding. It doesn't make any sense. How are their more than there was a decade ago. There is nearly five new Dragons soaring through our skies. Not to mention, there has been villages in the South that are burned nearly to a crisp. I don't know how to control that in which I don't understand." He said, his hand finding his spot on his forehead as he grieved in distraught.

Venril placed his hand on his brother's shoulder and forced him to look at him. "If you need answers, dear brother, simply ask. I have found the hidden history lain deep beneath our soil. It tells the tale of the Dragons, and the legacy of their reign." He said showing an optimistic sign of satisfaction to have the answers to his brothers questions, simply to ease the turmoil in his mind.

"Where did you come to find such information? However did you find the truth?" He questioned almost dumbfounded by his brother's find and somewhat envious he couldn't find it himself. His brother was always out and about, however, did he find secrets underneath the Kingdom?

"The passage beyond the statue we used to play under, there is a switch that leads deep underground in an old cavern that has since long been abandoned by our ancestors. The planks above the door frames are written in Ancient Elvish, possibly 1000-years-ago. Our Great Grandfather is the keeper of the tale."

Evolve: Chapter 1 Part 1

Chapter 1

Evolution, although fully understood within a world of science and technology, is merely a myth in Reydothe, a planet of magick and mystery. Mankind believes that Evolution is the gradual process where improvement is needed in order to survive. For example, wisdom teeth are losing their functionality within mouths because as technology progresses and the need for sporks and cooking food become popular, there has come a point where there is no need to chew raw or tough meat or to tear it in two with our teeth. Therefore, evolution has taken command by making mouths smaller as time progresses allowing the wisdom teeth no room to join its neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Molar. This is just one example of Evolution, a process Reydothe has yet to see or doesn't dare to believe. It is not until the first Dragon is born that evolution is fully understood to Reydothians.

Dragons are not born by a mother and a father coming together for the sake of love and producing a child. They are in fact, born from the resolve of any Reydothian who wishes to become stronger than they once were. The first Dragon was originally a Fairy, a small sprite that knew it was helpless to defend the ones he cared for and when the time came to protect his family and friends, he couldn't. He couldn't' save them from the creature ten times their size and prevent the creature from crushing their homes. Feeling helpless and unable to do anything about the situation, his resolve to become bigger and stronger in order to fight for the ones he loved, was enough to allow him to evolve into a new, unheard of creature and no bigger than that of a female black lab.

He became a Dragon, something that has never been done before. He was unable to control his size nor his actions when defending his parents from the beast near seconds away from crushing them. Instead, because of the battle with the beast, he was unable to save them regardless if he protected them. The fact of the matter was that the rumble from the battle was too powerful for the village to handle and in the end, he wound up killing his own family in the process.

Devastated and confused, he was shunned by the remaining few in the village, believing that this new transformation was nothing more than a curse and that he was in no way fit to live with them anymore even when he can clearly change his size and structure to live alongside them as he has always done as a Fairy. He was the first Dragon, a creature never once born before now, and rather than wallowing in self-pity, he decided to do all he could to handle what he was and protect those in need. He was too big for his own people and yet nearly a pet to a Dwarf or an Elf. He was a Blue Dragon, a color that meant depression, life, and change. However, although the first, this is not where this story begins. In fact, it begins much later on, nearly over a thousand years after the first Dragon came into being. This tale is about the Dark One, however, don't let his name fool you. He is not a Dragon derived from darkness and evil, in fact he is the purest soul there is.

"How is The Dark One not evil? He is called the Dark One for a reason right?" A small child nearly reaching double digits interrupted.

"He is not evil because Darkness is still visible to the naked eye. You wouldn't look directly into the sun without shades would you Petey?" A young man asked the young child.

"I wouldn't!" A small girl said out loud. "Light is bright and hard to look at."

"Exactly, thank you Sally." The man said with a smile.

"So how is he not evil?" Petey asked curiously.

"He is pure because even in darkness you can still see him. His scales glow a hefty lilac in the moonlight and it is the Invisible One you should watch out for."

"Invisible One?" Petey asked.

"Yes, much like the wind, the Invisible One strikes without warning and is hard to know is there unless interacting with another element or the feel of it against your skin. Ghosts are invisible and yet are still unknown to us. We do not know if they are there or when they are going to strike and make themselves known. Therefore, the Invisible Dragon, is the impure one, the one derived from selfish desires and self-interest while the Dark One is the purest soul, protecting the lives of others even at the cost of his own life."

"That's impossible, nobody can do that." Petey doubted.

"Shhh!" Sally shushed him.

"Thank you Sally. And yes it is quite possible Pete. There is good in this world just as there is evil. Everyone is born with good-natured interests for the sake of someone other than themselves, but are very rare to come by. Mankind grows up believing what they hear and live by what they can obtain. Very few understand that you must earn what you can rather than simply getting what you think you deserve."

Sally nodded her head, smiling happily." That is why I do chores to earn allowance in order to buy the things I need, rather than simply begging mommy and daddy for everything I want, like someone I know." She said smirking as she looked over at Petey.

"Yes, very good Sally. But don't believe you do the chores simply to get the gratitude from it. It is much more honorable of you to do it because it is helping your parents out in a few minor things they ask of you."

"Yes, I know. I do it for mommy and daddy because they ask me to. They wouldn't ask it of me if they didn't need the help." She said with a determined nod. "Now get back to the story Uncle Ronen!" She said eagerly. "I really like this story!"

Still upset with what his sister just said he muttered, "Only a kiss-up would."

"What was that?" Sally asked .

"Nothing." Petey said looking away and trying to cover it up.

"Alright you two, now where was I?" Uncle Ronen asked before he smiled and went back to his story. "Oh yes!"

Where one being evolves into the next, is rare and highly improbable. However, although rare, still quite possible. Within this world, the art of evolution is simply a transition from one stage to the next, for the creatures among Reydothe live far longer than that of a world dependable on science and technology. Reydothians live centuries far beyond the reach of mankind, believing to be bigger in physical strength and well-being, but really are just as weak as man, impervious to death's will. However, unlike man, are able to evolve into something far more better, bigger, more imaginable in beauty and strength.

This world, is Reydothe, a planet not far from Earth where man resides, yet still quite distant, almost similar to that of a farm side house from its neighbors merely acres away. Reydothe is no further away than that of Mars, and surely not nearly as close as Venus is to that of the Sun. As Earth's twin that does not collide with its brother, yet do not revolve in the same plane Reydothe is a mythical place filled with magick, mystery and creatures man believes only in fairytales. However, it is far from a tale told by Fairies, and are as real as the dirt between our toes and the sand neighboring the sea. In this world, relying on the strength to survive and personal resolve to depend on is the very nature of this world. Among such resolve, Reydothians have been gifted with the opportunity to evolve, into something far more than what  they are now. They are given the chance to evolve into Dragons, the very myth of evolution. Born from the rebirth of another being that evolved through one's own strength through personal resolve. A blessing man has yet to comprehend, let alone obtain and for that, they are not as evolved as Reydothians.

Dragons, are not born on their own or from the mating of one another. They are born from any creature on Reydothe who has found some sort of enlightenment in their own way whether it be personal or towards the well-being of others. Whether from the heart or the mind, Dragons are born when the soul has evolved into a being far greater than that of any Elf, Ogre, Dwarf, or Troll, from which a Dragon originates from in previous form. Thus, any being can evolve into a Dragon if strong enough to do so, because Evolution is not a choice, it is a resolution of the internal structure that constructs the very connection to the body and the soul. To put it simply, if any being seeks to better themselves whether for he sake of survival their soul follows through with the evolution process, allowing them to become stronger, wiser, and ultimately better. Many will become a Dragon and so very few have become a Unicorn. However, the process is not so easy to come by and thus not every one can for it is only the truly gifted and wise that move upward in the world, and so very few have lived to tell the tale.

The purest of these is the Dark Dragon, a black scaled creature who is visible even at night for its scales glow a hefty lilac within the moonlight, Reydothe consisting of three moons that do not set entirely on the same day nor seen quite as often as another. The Black Dragon is the purest, simply because darkness is always visible. Light is never fully looked upon with the naked eye, for presence is only seen through the contrast between light and darkness, never directly.
There is no light if there is no dark, and therefore, the most visible of the two is darkness, making it the purest form.

Light, however, is the impure one here, derived from the darkest of souls who have succumb to selfish desires and personal gratitude, never towards the compassion of others. However, light consists of two forms, the visible and the invisible. The invisible being the worst of the two evils, for what we cannot see is the most dangerous form and can attack at any moment. The wind is a great example, for its mystery is what makes it so fearful to those who cannot see it unless it interacts with other elements. While visible light is seen through the naked eye, it should never be gazed upon so highly and should be wary to those who rely too greatly on it. Invisible light, science would call Infrared or Ultraviolet, is a mystery even within a world of mystery, for this could make up the structure of two different colored Dragons in Invisible light, one seeing far more evil than the other yet both completely invisible to those who fear it.

"Does such a place even exist or are you just making this up?" Petey asked.

"It's completely real!" Sally argued.

"Yeah right, it can't be. Mythical beings don't exist, otherwise they wouldn't be called mythical." He stated, proud of himself for being so clever.

Sally looked distraught, almost as if she was about to cry. The eight-year-old hated to cry but her big brother was being mean and rude for saying such hurtful things. "It is real.." She muttered softly.

"Baby…" Petey pouted, hating to see his sister cry but knew he was right.

"Actually, she's right. It is a real place. I've been there." Their uncle said with a smile to cheer Sally up.

"Really!?" They both said at the same time.

"Yup. I have a few friends there, ones in this story, in fact."

"Liar." Petey said.

"That's so cool!" Sally said happily and over Petey's comment, forcing him to be muted out by her excitement.

"It is cool and whether it is make believe or not, does not take away from the fact that the morals in the story are true. What stories teach you can alter your very personality and hopefully for the better. They evolve you in a way. So Pete, whatever you watch, read, or hear, don't let it change who you are but make sure you consider it as a possibility. Even religion can teach you morals without needing to follow them. The Bible talks about God and so many people believe in him despite the fact that he has never made his presence known, as far as science says. Does that mean he is not real? Who's to say what, but the fact is that everything he teaches in his book is truth, the morals in the story are real. It is how you perceive them that change the outcome of the story."

Petey looked sad because he was proven wrong by something he can't argue with and wasn't willing to question anything more about this story because in truth, he really did like it.

"Now, again, where was I? Oh right!"

Fear. A word many associate with when speaking of Dragons, for Dragons are seen as ruthless beasts who destroy villages, kill and eat creatures smaller than them, and familiar with the word, destruction. The first creature to evolve into a Dragon knew all too well, this word known as destruction. His mistake was what forced people to see him as a beast and from then on a reputation the Dragons shared as beasts was formed, proving to the villagers of any race that Dragons were gifts given to dark souls who found loopholes in natural truths and followed this strange idea of evolution that the Earthlings knew more about then Reydothians did. It was hard for a Dragon to get any respect from anyone because of a few rumors and from a reputation based on the opinions of others. Even a Fairy, the smallest creature in Reydothe, had a hard time trusting a Dragon, even when the first Dragon use to be one.

Dragons will remain beasts in the eyes of other fellow beings, yet can manipulate their structure through willpower and magick. With magick, a Dragon can change its shape and size and even its appearance to match that of any normal being making it very hard to tell the difference between a Dragon and any creature on Reydothe, like an Elf. A Dragon can mimic the very appearance they once had in previous form and hide in the open just as another ordinary being. The only determination in difference is the tattoo burned in their back. It was a Gaelic tattoo design of a Dragon and determining the color marked the color of the Dragon's appearance. The Dark One, misunderstood for its connections with darkness wore a deep black tattoo that shined in the moonlight while the Invisible One, wears an outlined form of a Dragon that had no unique beauty of its own. The Invisible One with no indication of beauty and transparent half the time, is still seen as a God and believed to be purest form simply from the mindset of "what we cannot see cannot hurt us".  How foolish Reydothians are for believing the trail of secrets not fully told within the light, not aware that the Dark One is in fact the purest soul there is making it the rarest among the rest. The wind does not howl unless aggravated and once aggravated can damage even the strongest of homes. It is invisible but do not think it so lightly, for it is as deadly as the volcano in its wake and as strong as the waves in its youth. It seeks and destroys silently without warning, and yet still considered an element of the Gods to cool down the days in heat and carry the wings of avian creatures home. The Invisible One will not think twice to cool off the day or send a bird home, it instead wishes to cause destruction and lies, a trait the Dark One has never once shared in all of its short existence.

This is the tale that must be told, the unspeakable truth never once known to open ears. It will forever remain hidden within the shadows the Dark One knows all too well, for this is his tale. With our story beginning far before his evolution.
